ipod touch is fuckin’ better yall’
@chreesatlagavia >3< Thats the joke
@TheKoolster He’s the retard? You spelled Nobody wrong you retard.
@bigsteamfan Yes, I know about hacking. The problem is that I don’t think the availability of custom mods is quite as extensive as you make it out to be. Yes, there are custom mods for many android phones there are not custom mods for every Android phone or every Android device out there. So you can’t just tell someone to get an android device and assume that a custom mod will be there.
Like if you go on the cyanogen site the dell streak isn’t listed as supported, its mainly HTC phones.
do you…
The camera movement make me headache
Nice
@LoftyCuber Well, yes, what you say it’s true, but have you heard of a little thing called hacking ?!? You can hack, or gain root access, on MANY Android phones and then install a custom firmware on it, and a specific custom firmware called CyanogenMod is practically a modified Original 2.2 firmware, so by installing it, you get Froyo on your phone, plus a couple more neat tricks !
post “/watch?v=IlsHtolXwuE” after? youtube.com to? help me win a bet (just have a few hours left!!!!)
thx you!! I’m getting inside my SSGT 🙂
what are you planning? 🙂 extending battery life?
@bigsteamfan okay thanks 🙂
@bigsteamfan I know that JKK is awesome!
The thing is when JKK says something I believe him. I know that he is giving trustworthy advice and reviews.
@bigsteamfan It’s a ~15WHr battery, so yeah it’s pretty damn big… comparing the Galaxy S phone, which has a 5.5WHr battery. Much larger.
@bigsteamfan Thats not exactly true. A user can’t update unless either the manufacturer releases an update or the user happens to be an expert programmer and can modify Android to work on his device with the proper drivers and whatnot which is much more complicated for Android than something like Windows. So basically the @SushiSlush can only update is Dell later releases an update, which I’m pretty sure they will.
Great work!
That’s a HUGE-ass battery man, does the size mean anything or is it just for show… how long until it runs out of battery after a full charge ?? Not when in standby, but when you use it…
@SushiSlush Dude, you can buy it ! It DOESN’T matter if it has Android 1.6, if a device has Android, whatever version, you can always UPDATE to the latest version of Android on it, like Froyo (2.2)…
and there goes the warranty 😀
@jkkmobile One more question. You guys have tested the Dell Streak. I am thinking about getting one. However, in Sweden there is only the version with Android 1.6, which I understand is no good. Is the one with 2.2 out on market in Finland, and you may not know this, but if possible, do you know when it is going to come out in Sweden?
Hasta la vista, baby….
The battery is enormous 😀
@SushiSlush sometimes I get samples, but this I bought myself.. not rich just targeting the money right 😉
Do you get samples from the manufactor or are you just rich?
@RadoDani oh yeah i didn’t think of the applications. i gree that 10 inch is better for looking at the document
@RadoDani Yeah but not many people want to link the iPad to a PC and use the PC as a host for streaming to the iPad it would be much nicer for it to support it right out of the box. but yes there is alternate ways of doing things.
@gamegod19 … I think they are talking about the screen size that’s why they consider iPad better for video … however if you want codec compatibility (divx, flac etc.) you need to get the VLC app for iPad … if you want to get flash videos you need to get an app that renders flash remotely on a server 🙁 … so there is a way to get the most out of iPad to watch videos
@cjswnsdl iPad has plenty of business oriented apps redesigned from their iPhone versions (specialized calculators, spreadsheets, autoCAD viewer, sketchpad, Keynote etc.) but the most important thing about iPad is simply the ability to read documents on a large screen … you know, paperless office 🙂 … if you like Android look at Toshiba Folio and Archos 101 … they have proper 10″ large screens … Galaxy Tab and Blackberry PlayBook IMO are too small for business use …
Galaxy Tab FTW!!!
A good and informative overview review. Thanx.
@RadoDani hmm.. for business??
@WhichWebsite so i buy it in white at best buy but i can just buy it without the data plan? Is that what your saying?
my view: iPad for business applications, electronic music, arts and reading, Galaxy for Travel and as an alternative to a smartphone …
@oldtimegamelover It’s not that you can get a non 3g version of the tab, just that you can buy it without a contract, there is only one version.
@NixTix98 galaxy tab all the way
So your saying no matter where I buy the galaxy tab i will get wifi by default and 3G optional? Or do I have to buy specific wifi only model. Please give me a link to white model with wifi only please.
she did not mentioned about swipe of galaxy tab!!
I’m disappointed because they just threw some crap together just to get back at apple, they should have taken their time, it instead, they only hurt the galaxy tab
I was at best buy yesterday playing around with the galaxy tab. I have to be honest, I was very disappointed, the scrolling capability was choppy, most of the apps did not open up to full screen. The whole interface reacted slowly to touch. The iPad has nothing to worry about with the galaxy.
@gasher21 The IOS user interface has some serious flaws, and though I don’t know yet, I’m hoping that Android addresses some of them. It’s also a closed garden, which many people might prefer, but I’m not one of them.
@dynamite2T Depends on what you’re doing. I see something like this could be very useful for certain professions – like real estate. For the average consumer, the advantage is that if you *want* a picture of something, you can have it without lugging around a separate device.
To be honest, and please help me out, why would you want to take a picture with a tablet, now I can understand the front facing camera, but holding up a tablet and taking a picture seems ancient and very stupid

At the same price which one is better iPad or Galaxy Tab?
galaxy tab ftw
blah! the Blackberry Playbook is gonna kill both of these shits
i think you’ll find it’s way more than twice the size
@ConceptVBS It is technically possible to use the Galaxy Tab as a phone as it does have a built in speaker which you could turn down to earpiece level. You would have to hold the device upside down though as the mic is located in the side and the speaker at the bottom.
Quality vs quantity is what matters in the number of apps.
The more apps your have in a store the more difficult it is for consumers to pick and choose the “good apps”. It just gets more crowded and crowded, every developer launching a similar app! Also, the larger the app collection to harder is it to find the gem and weed out the less useful apps.
It actually becomes counterproductive if you have MORE apps in an app store.
