In this video we compare two of the hottest tablets on the market, the Apple iPad, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab. This debate is reminiscent of the iOS vs. Android arguments raging on cell phone’s but on a larger (literally) scale. We put the two head to head and declare a winner. FYI…
I have the IPAD now but only the 1st 2weeks I was so excited but I had the chance to see & use the GALAXY TAB & its a very solid Tablet ( advance hardware than ipad, then the quality is SO GREAT, you can root & do everything in it soon by help of XDA & lots of android guys)
3 things ONLY IPAD has on it ( Much bigger screen but not as portable as the tab, it has more applications then IT HAS APPLE LOGO)
GALAXY TAB has so many better feature & much portable & much solid built.
GALAXY RULE!
i dont see the point of a tablet because it’s just as portable as a laptop, but yet just as useful as the cellphone versions of the OS
Ipad is a giant ipod touch and this tablet is a giant Evo without 4G, that should cover it.
So when you pointed that the screen was a bit small you emmidiately said that the iPad has a bigger one, but when you said that its nice that the Galaxy Tab has a camera you decided to “not mention any names” . It would have been fare to mention that the iPad doesnt have a camera….
When does this come out? Sorry if this has already been asked or etc.
Sorry John but you morphed into an Android Fanboy.
You are not neutrally anymore 🙁
I agree with @therandygoat + @ericframirez and @96515325
I find it quite boring looking at a device when nothing happens most of the time
Its more like an Audiopodcast.
No thumb again
You talk about flash being smooth and then you show one of your own videos for a few seconds. As we all know, nothing ever moves in your videos any more, so that was a fairly lame way of showing it. iPad already has great youtube videos, why not show something that only a flashplayer would be able to show? Newgrounds, nostalgia critic/cinemassacre, gametrailers/gamespot etc
you can’t play Hulu on the TAB?!?!?!?!?! thats dumb, on my Galaxy S cell phone I can. thats really weird.
Checkout my iPod Touch 3G giveaway!
your not mentioning names because you wanna fuck steve jobs
Please get a new microphone so we can hear the sound better and I don’t mind the narration but would be good if you can do so while showing the unit in operation.
i love when he says whats up!! it just makes you catch a little bit of his happiness
0:55 no circular menu, just another ipod touch rip off. lol
Jon!, get out of this “BLAH BLAH BLAH” habit! Make this video a “Thoughts and Comments”, then do a real review!
How much does it cost usage wise? On a daily or monthly time.
@96515325 Oh quit your complaining. Explaining thing isn’t the end of the world!
@bumserne2 What should he do. Perform sign language, he is an electronics reviewer.
And, I think PlayBook>>>Galaxy Tab>>>iPad. I like the PlayBook the most. It looks really good, has great specs, and seems to have the best OS. We’ll see when it gets released. I think the Galaxy Tab is way better than the iPad. I’m appalled by how many people bought the iPad. Either way I’m not in the market for tablets at all because I don’t see the need. My MacBook is better than any of these and just about as portable.
YES!!! I think he actually touched the product!
@Leo1lctd They don’t have the same maximum capacity. iPad is either 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB and that’s it. The Galaxy Tab has literally infinite space. With SD Card slot, you can swap out however many SD cards that you want just like he said in the video.
You can’t get the iPad on every carrier here in the US. That’s where Jon lives and where most of his viewers are so it makes perfect sense for him to say that.
His voice is better than Noah’s from PhoneDog or anyone from CrackBerry.
For one, you can’t be serious. “The iPad only comes in 16 or 32 gigs!” Really? I seem to recall there being a 64 Gb version, and oh, yeah, there is. So ultimately, both have the same maximum capacity.
Also, you can get the iPad on every carrier everywhere but the US. So it’s pretty ridiculous to not mention that.
And finally, a small PS: sorry man, but you do NOT have a voice for doing reviews.
Free energy has been here all along ,But some very powerfull ppl don’t want you and me to be free from energy costs,Find the real deal, a free energy device at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,take part in the revolution!

@Cluberda still works on the ipad :p !!!
Although can anyone explain the hate that Windows Mobile (Pre-7) had? I had a Palm Treo 700wx and later an HTC Titan (the Verizon vx6800) and I really enjoyed both devices. The HTC Titan was a phenomenal PDA/Phone. I loved its scroll wheel (great for navigating almost everything). Its Multitasking was great, on its home screen had a icon in the top right that when you clicked on, you could open close or just view any currently running app.
@jskproductions1 The only one that seemed to come close for a time was the Motorola Droid X. Btw, the Nexus One wasn’t really made by Google. They are a software group, the Nexus One was made by HTC, just like there is a rumored Nexus Two to be made by Samsung. Right now the top 3 Android device makers are HTC, Samsung and Motorola.
galaxy tab ftw come out with a verizon tab named the droid tab
galaxy tab seems better because you could theme it like no other and android has all the same apps as the apple store so hmmm sounds good i am gonna get the tab
@IndivisiblePrinciple Same here. I liked the Nexus One. It had a really great design which manufactures like HTC, LG, and Samsung just can’t seem to match. From what I’ve seen and used it’s also the fastest Android device I’ve ever played with. I really think it’s a shame they stopped making them. They were a threat that made Apple do better and make the iPhone 4 to which I’ll always thank Google for. Without iOS Android won’t exist. Without Android iOS would not be close to where it is.
@jskproductions1 I reeally hope that they in fact don’t drop the nexus project. Originally they had to kick start the market of high end hardware to set the standard for showcasing the android OS. They said that goal was served and they stopped. But I will be interested to see what happens as the hardware/software relationship keeps climbing and there is venue to showcase android in its purity on their terms.
I am not convinced that we wont see it continue. That is my hope…?
good point. flash means errm.. entertainment ahem
@IndivisiblePrinciple I don’t like certain aspects of Android that keep me away from it, and I don’t like the fact the software and hardware isn’t unified or at least doesn’t have that option. It’s a pity they stopped making the Nexus One I thought it was a top notch device. I also don’t agree with some of the things they let in the market. But I will say this Google deserves everything it has and Apple does to.
@IndivisiblePrinciple I will also say this about Google. They have made a mobile OS that is actually a true competitor to iOS which is saying something considering how the market looked 2 years ago. There system seems to be working quite well and I think they will both control everything in a matter of years. I dont pretend not to have a little Android envy. God, I would love an iPhone on verizon haha. With that said I don’t like google privacy polices. Part 1 of 2
iPad !
iPod touch !
MacBook Pro !
fuck ipHONE 4 – HTC or 3GS !
@hengineer Hot damn! Thanks to your comment I just went and downloaded itching thumbs! THANK YOU!!! THis is app is awesome!!!!
I have seen a few multitaskers that i liked but all had some part I wasnt crasy about. But this thing is great. Man I love the fact that uncountable devs inovations can be streamlined to my phone, most of the time for free, and instantly make it exponentially realise new potential
Now i have Quick desk on the search key and Itching thumbs on home. This will be perfect
When is iOS 4.2 for iPad coming out for the public? I know it’s in November, but is there any specific date? Or is it already out?
@jskproductions1 LMFAO are you serious? You know that there are a myriad of app stores available for Android? All of which offer DEVELOPERS more options and more freedom than the Google Marketplace (which offers them much more freedom than anything Apple can put out). I personally have used SlideMe and Appbrain. In fact Amazon is rumored to be coming out with their own app store.
Ah you’re talking about Jailbreaking the iphone/Pad? Well then I will admit that I rooted my Droid, flashed a custom ROM and installed a custom Home Replacement App. I have custom icons set up, and currently am trying out a Web-OS card-like multitasking app called itching thumbs. Shrugs, to each his/her own.
@jskproductions1 Fair enough. And I will say this about ?, in my experience they are exceptional innovators & aesthetic designers. Build quality is consistently high & implementation of technology, even if its dated is generally impressive. From these points of view I hold them in high regard
Now price, policies/marketing tactics, brazen self delegated say in user experience, asphyxiation, etc is where they loose me
If they tried to do what android does i immagine they would do it very well
@IndivisiblePrinciple I give up. Honestly we’re getting nowhere. I have more to say to you and im sure you feel likewise but I really think we’re going to have to agree to disagree because I don’t think this aurgument will ever move any further haha. I’m glad you like you phone and I’m glad I like mine to 🙂
@hengineer I’m not hating on you either I’m just doing what you are- pointing out why my OS of choice is better.
Erm, you didn’t say anything about the Samsung worming up after some hours of video playing, which the iPad doesn’t do. Or how Flash content slows down the experience of pinching and zooming websites that have Flash, which makes Apples decision to not include Flash a more realistic one. Basically, this video is about comparing specs, which we all know from before, not a real comparison from first-hand usage. That’s something I would like to see.
@jskproductions1 “I haven’t jail broken mine though because no matter what I do it won’t look as good as iOS already does. Android of course could be much improved ascetically.”
…anyone biting?
LOL!!!! This is facile fanboy fanaticism FAILURE at its finest!
one for the record.
