Samsung’s new Android-based tablet computer, the Galaxy Tab, has been well-received by industry analysts, despite having not come with full pricing details. The Tab, which launched at the IFA show in Berlin, Germany, is expected to compete against Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) blockbuster iPad. However, consumers are expected to benefit from the new competition as the new entry should start a price war in 2011. While Apple has legitimized the category with its iPad, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab is another tier-1 brand that will go head to head with the unit. However, another flurry of announcements like this is expected to come soon. Consequently, Toshiba just announced its tablet the Folio 100, which also runs on Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android OS, and will be rolled out before the end of the year.
