If i factory re-set the samsung galaxy s do the contacts on the sim card also get deleted? What does it delete? Would you recommend it to delete a google account if the phone only has one app and no pictures etc.

ok i had to restore my galaxy and all it done was restore it like all my contacts were there and so where my photos really all it done was delete the apps and anyway i didnt have much stuff on my phone since i only got it on christmas day so yeah…

It’s pretty similar to system restore on windows OS. It restores your phone to a like new condition.
It does not delete contacts on a SIM card.
NO, if you want to delete the google account from the home screen press Menu > Settings > Account & Sync, and then delete the google account from there.
If you do a system restore your contacts will be restored when you sign back into google.
